Day 20 in Japan

MONDAY, JUNE 9

Here I am, loaded down with my carry-on and holding on to my mother's. Not exactly a happy camper, am I?
Here's Ken-chan getting bags out of the van he rented for our trip to Narita International Airport.

I could not believe the number of bags we had! Here's Fred overseeing unloading the two vans.

Hiroshi, Noriko, Fred and Cheryl at Narita International Airport.

We got up early for the last time in our rented home in Japan. We finished packing. And did some last-minute cleaning.

Then Ken-chan came over with food for our breakfast. He also rented a big van so we can put all our luggage in it. I love the guy.

We waited for Tsune-chan to come over. He had borrowed a big van from a friend so we could all ride together.

It's about a two-hour ride to Narita International Airport. So we left around 11 a.m.

To our surprise, Uncle Hide and Izumi were at the airport. So was Noriko and Hiroshi.

We had some time once we got to the airport, so we found a place to have lunch.

Before we knew it, it was time to board our plane. We said our good-byes and made all of them promise to come see us.

It was agreed that in two years, they will. Hiromi and Tsune-chan will be retiring from their government jobs. Ken-chan will also retire from his job.

But who knows? We might go over next year.

One never knows, do one?
